About Day & Stay
Day & Stay is a free Seoul trip planner for first-time visitors. You pick the places you want to see, and it splits them into days that fit opening hours, closing days, meal times and public-transit travel times. If you haven’t booked a hotel yet, it compares neighborhoods against your days and suggests 3.

Where our data comes from
- Places
- Seoul listings from the Korea Tourism Organization's TourAPI (English). We check each place before adding it, including opening hours, closing days and how long to stay. Hours we couldn't confirm are marked.
- Popular order
- Wikipedia page views (English, Japanese and Chinese, CC0) and yearly visitor counts at major attractions (Korea Culture & Tourism Institute), adjusted by our own picks. Never paid placement.
- Travel times
- Calculated by us from a subway network built from OpenStreetMap, Seoul city bus section times (TPSS) and walking.Times between stations are estimated from average train speeds, so treat them as estimates.Times between places and where-to-stay areas, on both place and area pages, use the same calculation from each area’s main station.
- Neighborhoods
- Areas within 1.2 km of a subway station, built from licensed lodging records (hotels, tourist hotels and homestays for foreign visitors) published by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.Neighborhood picks for your trip come from the same named areas as Where to stay, measured from each area’s main station.Evening activity, quietness and price level are calculated from the same public data and reviewed by us.
- Where to stay
- Each area groups one to five neighbouring stations. Hotels are counted within walking distance of the stations; bars and restaurants are licensed food businesses (Ministry of the Interior and Safety) within 500 m.People out at 9–11 pm come from Seoul's living population data for residents of Korea, by administrative dong (Seoul Open Data Plaza; dong boundaries from admdongkor, CC BY 4.0). Visitors from abroad are not in this count.Area order, groupings and the “similar” and “different” picks never use booking-partner or commission data.

How plans are made
Each day is planned as one route. Every place is scheduled inside its opening hours, closing days are skipped, and meals land in lunch and dinner windows. When a place doesn’t fit, it isn’t dropped quietly: the plan lists it with the reason and other days or places that would work. When you edit a plan, we recalculate as few days as possible and never move the places you pinned.
Keeping it accurate
Places close and hours change. In a saved plan, tap a place and report what you saw; we check reports within 48 hours, and plans that include a corrected place offer to update. You can also email buzzwide@gmail.com.
